About Stormathrive Wealth Management LLC

Built for stress.
Structured to grow stronger.

Stormathrive Wealth Management was built around a simple belief: wealth should be structured so uncertainty does not get the final say. We plan for what can go wrong, protect against financial ruin, preserve the ability to act, and pursue meaningful upside from a position designed to withstand stress.

StormathriveWhat the name means

Stormathrive means building so stress can leave you stronger, not merely intact. We cannot choose every storm. Markets fall, plans change, and life creates shocks we did not schedule. The goal is to structure your financial position so those shocks do not destroy your ability to act—and so preserved liquidity, defined risk, and clear rules can leave you positioned to use the opportunities that disruption can create.

Why we exist

2008

The idea behind Stormathrive began before the firm had a name.

The conventional answer stopped being good enough.

During the 2008 financial crisis, Stormathrive founder Kevin Wenke was an investment adviser representative taking calls from clients who were watching decades of savings disappear. The standard answer was familiar: diversify, stay invested, do not panic, and trust that markets will recover.

The markets eventually did recover. But the experience left Kevin with a question he could not put away:

Why should a financial plan depend so heavily on the client being brave after the damage has already started?

He left the advisory business in 2009 without a replacement strategy to sell. What followed was a long search for a different way to think about risk—one in which the structure does more of the work before the crisis arrives.

That search eventually became Stormathrive Wealth Management.

Low cost solved one problem

We think risk is the other one.

Low-cost firms such as Vanguard helped transform investing by making diversified market exposure inexpensive and widely accessible. We think that was a major improvement. But low cost solves the price of participation—not the question of who bears the investment risk. In a conventional portfolio, that risk still belongs to the investor.

Conventional low-cost investing

Make market exposure cheaper.

In a conventional unhedged portfolio, the provider can make market exposure inexpensive, but it does not absorb your market loss. If the market falls sharply, your account bears the decline. Lower fees matter. They do not, by themselves, change the structure of that risk.

The Stormathrive question

How much of that risk actually needs to remain yours?

Through portfolio structure, reserves, and contractual tools such as options, specific risks can sometimes be defined, limited, or transferred to market counterparties instead of being left open-ended on the client. The objective is not to eliminate investment risk. It is to decide intentionally which risks you keep, which risks you limit, and which risks are worth paying to transfer—while continuing to seek meaningful long-term participation.

Risk transfer has costs and trade-offs. Options and derivatives introduce their own risks, may expire worthless, can reduce returns in some market environments, and are not suitable for every investor. Stormathrive does not promise to match or outperform a conventional portfolio. We seek meaningful long-term participation while structuring the downside differently.

What we are here to do

Mission and vision

Our mission

Our mission is to help people build wealth that can endure uncertainty and preserve their freedom to act—by protecting against financial ruin, planning for what can go wrong, and pursuing meaningful upside without risking everything they have built.

Our vision

We envision a world where everyone has access to powerful financial strategies, structures, and rules once largely reserved for the ultra-wealthy—so they can live by rules that put them in a position to succeed.

The rules we build around

Our core values

These are not words for a conference-room wall. They are decision rules. If a strategy, recommendation, fee, or business practice conflicts with them, we should be able to explain why—or change it.

01

Avoid ruin.

No opportunity is worth a risk that can permanently remove you from the game. Growth matters. Survival comes first.

02

Structure before prediction.

We would rather build a financial structure that can withstand being wrong than build a plan that depends on consistently predicting what happens next.

03

Preserve optionality.

Liquidity, flexibility, and the ability to make another move have value. A good plan should preserve choices instead of forcing decisions at the worst possible time.

04

Take risk intentionally.

Risk is not something to fear or accept by default. It should be understood, chosen, sized, and taken for a reason.

05

Remain independent.

Advice should be shaped by the client's interests, not by proprietary product quotas, revenue sharing, or a corporate sales agenda.

06

Make sophistication accessible.

Powerful financial structures and thoughtful advice should not become available only after someone is already ultra-wealthy.

Philosophy becomes structure

The firm was designed around the same rules.

Stormathrive is not simply a name attached to an investment strategy. The philosophy influences how we invest, how we plan, how we charge, and how we structure the relationship.

Risk is considered before return.

We begin by asking what can go wrong, what can cause permanent damage, and how much exposure is actually necessary. Only then do we ask how to pursue the upside.

The rules are set before the emotion.

A well-designed portfolio should not require constant encouragement every time markets fall or restraint every time markets surge. We want the structure and the agreed rules to carry more of that burden so clients can spend less time reacting to markets and more time living their lives.

Liquidity is a strategic asset.

Liquidity is not simply money waiting to be invested. It can preserve choices, reduce the risk of forced selling, and provide the ability to respond when circumstances or opportunities change.

Fees should reflect work and value.

The Stormathrive Investment Method uses a published marginal fee schedule designed so the advisory fee does not simply rise dollar-for-dollar as an account grows through a substantial range. We believe sophisticated structure and direct advice should become more accessible as clients build wealth—not progressively more expensive simply because the account balance is larger. The current schedule and all qualifications are in our Form ADV Part 2A.

Independence is structural.

Stormathrive has no parent financial institution or broker-dealer affiliation and does not receive investment commissions or revenue sharing for the securities advice it provides. Removing those incentives does not make us infallible. It makes the economic relationship easier to see.

Complexity must earn its place.

Some of our strategies use sophisticated instruments. That does not give us permission to hide behind sophistication. If we cannot explain what a position is supposed to do, what it can cost, and how it can fail, it should not be in a client's portfolio.

Why entrust us with your money?

Do not rely on the story alone. Check the structure.

Trust should be supported by facts you can verify independently. These are some of the practical safeguards and choices behind the relationship.

Fiduciary framework

Client interests come first.

Stormathrive's Code of Ethics requires supervised persons to place client interests ahead of their own and to identify and address conflicts of interest.

Conflicts disclosed

Insurance is a separate business.

Kevin also owns Decision Tree Insurance LLC. Insurance may pay commissions, creating a conflict of interest. Clients are under no obligation to purchase insurance through Kevin or Decision Tree Insurance and may use any licensed agent or carrier they choose.

Risks stated plainly

We explain how a strategy can fail.

Options and derivatives involve additional risks and are not right for everyone. We believe the downside, trade-offs, and failure points belong in the conversation before a strategy is implemented.

Who we built this for

For people who want growth without surrendering the rest of the conversation.

Stormathrive tends to make the most sense for people who still want meaningful participation in long-term growth but have begun asking harder questions about what they are risking to get it.

  • What can permanently damage my plan?
  • How much market exposure do I actually need?
  • What happens if a major decline comes at the wrong time?
  • What remains liquid if I need to act?
  • Can specific risks be defined, limited, or transferred instead of simply accepted?
  • Can my adviser explain the structure without hiding behind jargon?

Questions people should ask

About Stormathrive

What does “Stormathrive” mean?

Stormathrive describes the philosophy of structuring your financial position so uncertainty does not destroy your ability to keep moving, making choices, and pursuing opportunity. It does not mean storms can be avoided or that losses can be eliminated.

How is Stormathrive different from a low-cost investment firm?

Low-cost firms can provide inexpensive market exposure. In a conventional unhedged portfolio, however, the investor still bears the market loss when markets decline. Stormathrive uses planning, liquidity, portfolio structure, and in some strategies options or derivatives to define, limit, or transfer specific risks while still seeking meaningful market participation. These techniques introduce costs, trade-offs, and additional risks and are not suitable for everyone.

Does Stormathrive eliminate investment risk?

No. All investing involves risk, including possible loss of principal. Options and derivatives can lose value or expire worthless and involve risks that a conventional portfolio may not have. Stormathrive's objective is to manage and structure risk intentionally, not to promise that losses will not occur.

Who holds client assets?

Interactive Brokers LLC serves as Stormathrive's primary qualified custodian. Client assets are maintained in brokerage accounts at the custodian rather than being held directly by Stormathrive. Custodial protection does not protect against market losses.

How does Stormathrive charge for the Investment Method?

The Stormathrive Investment Method uses a published marginal asset-based advisory fee schedule designed so the fee does not simply rise dollar-for-dollar across the entire account balance. The current tiers, billing terms, administrative charges, and all qualifications are disclosed in Stormathrive Wealth Management LLC's Form ADV Part 2A and the applicable client agreement. Fees are negotiable at the firm's discretion.

Does Stormathrive earn commissions on investments?

Stormathrive does not receive commissions on securities held in managed accounts. Kevin Wenke separately owns Decision Tree Insurance LLC, and insurance products placed through that agency may pay commissions. This creates a conflict of interest that is disclosed in Stormathrive's Form ADV. Clients are free to use any licensed insurance agent or carrier.

Can Stormathrive work with clients outside Florida?

Stormathrive is registered as an investment adviser in Florida and may provide advisory services in other jurisdictions when properly registered or when an applicable exemption is available. Prospective clients outside Florida should confirm eligibility with the firm before beginning an engagement.

The point of the structure

Spend less of your life reacting to money.

Markets will move. Forecasts will be wrong. Life will change. The goal is not to control every outcome. It is to build enough structure that uncertainty has less power over the choices you get to make next.

Important disclosures

Stormathrive Wealth Management LLC is a registered investment adviser in the State of Florida. Registration does not imply a certain level of skill or training.

This page is provided for informational and educational purposes only. It does not constitute individualized investment advice, a recommendation, or an offer to buy or sell any security. An advisory relationship is created only through an executed advisory agreement.

All investing involves risk, including the possible loss of principal. No investment strategy can eliminate risk, guarantee a profit, or ensure protection from loss in declining markets. Strategies used by Stormathrive may include options and other derivatives, which involve additional risks including time decay, volatility changes, assignment or exercise risk, liquidity risk, and the possible total loss of premium paid. Such strategies are not suitable for every investor.

References to defining, limiting, transferring, or structuring risk describe the intended mechanics of particular strategies and do not mean investment risk is eliminated. Risk transfer generally involves costs and trade-offs and may cause a strategy to underperform a simpler unhedged portfolio in some market environments. Past performance is not indicative of future results.

Fee information on this page summarizes portions of the current Stormathrive Investment Method schedule. Other strategies and services have different fees. The complete fee schedules, billing terms, administrative charges, conflicts, and other important information are contained in Stormathrive Wealth Management LLC's Form ADV Part 2A and the applicable client agreement. All fees are negotiable at the firm's discretion.

Interactive Brokers LLC serves as Stormathrive's primary qualified custodian. Interactive Brokers does not endorse, recommend, or guarantee Stormathrive or any investment strategy described here. Custodial protections do not protect clients from market or investment losses.

Kevin Wenke is also a licensed independent insurance agent and owner of Decision Tree Insurance LLC. Insurance products are offered separately and may pay commissions. The receipt of insurance commissions creates a conflict of interest. Clients are under no obligation to purchase insurance through Kevin Wenke or Decision Tree Insurance LLC and may use any licensed agent or carrier of their choice.
